About me

Hello and welcome to “My little kitchen”!

My name is Roni, I’m a software engineer by day and an amateur home chef at night … I can’t remember the first time I cooked or baked something by myself in the kitchen, but I remember always looking at my mom cooking and making pies. My mom loves to try new recipes, so this love passed on to me …

When I was still living at home with my parents I was always in charge of baking cakes and cookies. It was only at the age of 16 that I made my first savory pie (an amazing corn pie, the recipe was given to me by a friend of the family who was a chef himself). Cooking and baking became a more serious hobby when I moved in with my boyfriend (today my husband) and I had to be in charge of the food at home (otherwise we would eat only a simple salad and toast every day…).

My mother gave me workshops of basic food. You won’t believe it, but I still have a recipe card for cooking simple rice in my recipes booklet. Yes, yes, simple white rice. Everybody starts somewhere, right? The hobby of decorating cakes with fondant started when I was pregnant with my eldest son, and then I discovered the world of cake decorations. Then I also took a chocolate and pralines workshop.

Now I enjoy making all delicious food in my kitchen, mostly cakes and cookies, but also the everyday food such as chicken and pasta. I have a decent collection of cookbooks and recipes, and a full kitchen drawer dedicated to pralines, fondant and decorating cakes.

All the recipes in this blog are recipes that I tried at home and like them. If it’s not good – it’s not in the blog. Not always the recipe is my original idea. If I took inspiration or tried someone else’s recipe, I will always write the source of the recipe and if I have tips for changing or upgrading it.
